Pipe Organ Encounters provide a seven day experience for young people, ages 13–18, organized by local American Guild of Organists Chapters. During the POE, participants receive group and individual instruction, take field trips to hear and play notable instruments, and enjoy recitals by accomplished performers. Most important, participants get a chance to meet and interact with other young people who share an interest in the organ.

Participants receive private instruction and learn about the history, construction and mechanics of pipe organs; and they have opportunities to perform on world-class instruments. They may also explore future careers in music.
